Alex is a senior design strategist for The Cause Collective & Healthy Families South Auckland. He is passionate about intergenerational impact amongst social issues that face New Zealand - Education, Entrepreneurship, Urban Development and Environment.
He has reformed his design practice through his experiences of being immersed in the start-up business world, working in decentralised teams of entrepreneurs, to shifting his focus in disrupting systems-level change within the government sector. Reclaiming his indigenous roots his calling has led him to bring whakapapa and wairua into his core practice of design and urban placemaking.

A wairua-centred approach towards design thinking flips the paradigm towards focusing on ecosystems, anchoring the thinking towards 7 generations. Ultimately asking ourselves the question - Who are we designing for?
